Ratifying and Approving Amendment to Grant Agreement Between the County of Kane and Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center

WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 24-386, the Kane County Board approved the use of a portion of the County’s State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds for the Kane County Manufacturing and Sustainability project (“Project”) and authorized the execution of a grant agreement between the County of Kane and the Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center (“IMEC”), having a start date of January 1, 2024, and an expiration date of December 30, 2024, to carry out the Project; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 24-310, the Kane County Board authorized the execution of an updated grant agreement with IMEC to extend the deadline for completion of the Project to September 30, 2025 (“Agreement”); and
WHEREAS, given the expiration date of the Agreement, it was necessary for the Kane County Board Chairman to execute the attached Amendment to the Agreement to extend the expiration date for the Project by one (1) month to October 31, 2025, and modify the budget summary table to allow for all funds awarded under the Agreement to be properly spent and to complete closeout of the Project; and
WHEREAS, modifying the budget table does not affect the total award amount in the Agreement for the Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the attached Amendment to the Agreement between the County of Kane and Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center is approved and the signature of the Kane County Board Chairman on the attached Amendment is hereby affirmed and ratified.
