Authorizing a Salary Adjustment for the Administrator of Kane County Animal Control

WHEREAS, Kane County Animal Control (KCAC) is tasked with ensuring all eligible animals are vaccinated and registered for rabies, ensuring compliance with all bite laws and houses animals found straying in Kane County; and
WHEREAS, the Kane County Board passed the FY25 budget with all funding for a KCAC staff transition and KCAC has moved all staffing to a consistent forty-hour work week; and
WHEREAS, KCAC is looking to adjust the salary of the Administrator of KCAC due to increased supervisory demands; and
WHEREAS, the Illinois Animal Control Act (510 ILCS 5/3) provides that the salary of the Administrator shall be fixed by the county board; and
WHEREAS, section 5-3 of the Kane County Code provides that the salary of the Administrator shall be fixed by the Kane County Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board hereby authorizes an adjustment to the annual salary of the Kane County Animal Control Administrator to one hundred thirty-three thousand six hundred twenty-nine and thirty cents ($133,629.30).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Kane County Board that the Executive Director of the Human Resources Management Department and the Executive Director of the Finance Department take all steps necessary to implement this adjustment.
