Authorizing a Contract with Second Chance Cardiac Solutions, Inc. for the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Supplies & Services for the Building Management Department (BID# 26-036-DH)

WHEREAS, bids have been solicited for the Kane County Building Management Department Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Supplies & Services (BID# 26-036-DH). A total of six (6) bids were received by the May 19, 2026 deadline; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, as per bid documents and specifications, was Second Chance Cardiac Solutions, Inc., 103 S. Bridge St., Yorkville, IL 60560; and
WHEREAS, this contract is for two (2) years and will include three (3) additional one (1) year options for renewal, if mutually agreed upon by both parties. Kane County reserves the right to change the commencement and/or end of the contract periods; and
WHEREAS, the cost of annual inspection is Forty-Nine Dollars and Ninety-Five Cents ($49.95) per AED Machine. Kane County currently has Fifty (50) AED machines that are maintained by Building Management. The cost of supplies is outlined in the BID response and overall, Second Chance Cardiac Solutions, Inc. has the lowest cost; and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost based on annual inspection and AED supplies per fiscal year is Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500) for inspection and Thirty-Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($32,500) for supplies for a total of Thirty-Five Thousand Dollars ($35,000) per fiscal year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Chairman thereof is hereby authorized and directed to execute a two (2) year contract with optional three (3) one (1) year renewals with Second Chance Cardiac Solutions, Inc., 103 S. Bridge St., Yorkville, IL 60560, for the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Supplies & Services for the Building Management Department in the amount not to exceed Thirty-Five Thousand Dollars ($35,000) per fiscal year.
