Approving a Three (3) Year Contract for the Use of GPS and Dash Cameras from Samsara for the Kane County Division of Transportation

WHEREAS, pursuant to Kane County Resolution No. 22-266, the County of Kane and Sourcewell entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement ("IGA") to procure materials, services, supplies, equipment, construction and construction-related services; and
WHEREAS, the Kane County Division of Transportation utilizes GPS and dash camera services in its daily maintenance operations to respond to calls for service and emergencies, monitor roadway conditions and salt usage during snow operations, and assist in the protection of the County from potential insurance claims; and
WHEREAS, Samsara Inc., with a principal business address of 1 De Haro Street, San Francisco, California 94107, provides GPS and dash camera products and services; and
WHEREAS, Samsara Inc. has submitted a quote for a thirty-six (36) month license term at an annual cost of Thirty-Seven Thousand One Hundred Sixty-Two and 55/100 Dollars ($37,162.55), for a total license cost for the thirty-six (36) month term of One Hundred Eleven Thousand Four Hundred Eighty-Seven and 65/100 Dollars ($111,487.65); and
WHEREAS, the County desires to enter into a thirty-six (36) month contract with Samsara Inc. for GPS and dash camera services, with a contingency of Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) to account for unforeseen costs associated with the purchase and implementation of said services, for a total amount not to exceed One Hundred Thirty-Six Thousand Four Hundred Eighty-Seven and 65/100 Dollars ($136,487.65).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the thirty-six (36) month contract with Samsara Inc. for the use of GPS and dash camera services by the Kane County Division of Transportation is hereby approved, and that the Chairman of the Kane County Board is hereby authorized and directed to execute said contract and any related documents necessary therefor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Kane County Board appropriates an amount not to exceed the sum of One Hundred Thirty-Six Thousand Four Hundred Eighty-Seven and 65/100 Dollars ($136,487.65) from County Highway Fund #300, Line Item #50340 (Software Licensing Cost) to pay for said GPS and dash camera services.
