Authorizing Elimination of Housing and COC Program Manager Position and Creation of an Assistant Director of Planning & Information Management for the Kane County Health Department

WHEREAS, the Kane County Health Department conducted a comprehensive community health assessment and Kane County organizations identified housing as one of the top four health issues impacting residents; and

 

WHEREAS, safe and affordable housing helps individuals and families maintain their health, access job opportunities, and build stable lives; and

 

WHEREAS, in 2025, the Kane County Board voted to dissolve the Office of Community Reinvestment and transfer five positions and select housing programs to the Kane County Health Department, including management of the Homeless Management Information System, management of the Continuum of Care and management of the HOME Investment Partnership Program; and

 

WHEREAS, the Housing and COC Program Manager (Position #958012002) was among the positions transferred to the Health Department and is currently vacant; and

 

WHEREAS, Kane County Health Department has evaluated the programming and determined that an Assistant Director is needed to properly manage and coordinate the grant management and staff in order to most effectively meet its strategic goals and individual program deliverables; and

 

WHEREAS, the existing Housing and COC Program Manager (Position #958012002) a grade of 268 which currently corresponds to a salary range of $50,125 to $75,187; and

 

WHEREAS, the Kane County Health Department has developed a job description titled Assistant Director of Planning and Information Management that best meets its needs and the Kane County Human Resources Department has assigned a grade of 613 which currently corresponds to a salary range of $69,138 to $103,708; and

 

WHEREAS, the Executive Director of the Health Department believes it is in the best interests of Kane County to eliminate the vacant Housing and COC Program Manager and create an Assistant Director of Planning and Information Management.

 

 

 

 

 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Housing and COC Program Manager (Position #958012002) is hereby eliminated; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the position of Assistant Director of Planning and Information Management is hereby created with a salary grade of 613 within the Health Department.
