Authorizing the Execution of a Purchase and Sale Agreement and Other Corresponding Documents to Acquire Real Estate in Aurora, Illinois

WHEREAS, pursuant to 55 ILCS 5/5-1004, the Kane County Board shall exercise the powers of the County of Kane as a body corporate or politic; and
WHEREAS, 55 ILCS 5/5-1005(1) authorizes the County of Kane to purchase and hold real estate necessary for the uses of the county; and
WHEREAS, 55 ILCS 5/5-1005(3) authorizes the County of Kane to make all contracts and do all other acts in relation to the property and concerns of the county necessary to the exercise of its corporate powers; and
WHEREAS, the Kane County Board has determined that it is necessary to purchase and hold real estate located at 131 W. Illinois Avenue, Aurora, Illinois (PIN #15-15-328-021) and 708 Orchard Avenue, Aurora, Illinois (PIN #15-15-328-028) for the use of the County of Kane and the Kane County Sheriff’s Office; and
WHEREAS, to acquire this property, the County of Kane must enter into a Purchase and Sale Agreement that will outline the terms and conditions of the transaction.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board authorizes the Kane County Board Chairman to execute a Purchase and Sale Agreement and all other corresponding documents on behalf of the County of Kane, in consultation with and subject to the advisement of and to the satisfaction of the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office, that are required to facilitate and complete the purchase of property located at 131 W. Illinois Avenue, Aurora, Illinois (PIN #15-15-328-021) and 708 Orchard Avenue, Aurora, Illinois (PIN #15-15-328-028).
