Approving an Agreement with State Materials Engineering, LLC dba S.T.A.T.E. Testing, LLC of East Dundee, Illinois for 2024 On-Call Material Testing Services, Kane County Section No. 24-00371-04-EG

WHEREAS, on-call engineering services are necessary to provide soil, concrete and asphalt testing and inspections services for 2024 County construction projects (hereinafter “Testing Services”); and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to retain the services of a professional engineering firm to provide the necessary on-call Testing Services; and
WHEREAS, State Materials Engineering, LLC dba S.T.A.T.E. Testing, LLC, 570 Rock Road, Ste K, East Dundee, Illinois 60118 (hereinafter referred to as "Consultant") has experience and professional expertise in materials testing and inspection and is willing to perform said on-call professional Testing Services for the County; and
WHEREAS, the County and the Consultant have determined the terms for and the cost of providing the on-call Testing Services as set forth in a contract therefor (a copy of which is on file with the County Clerk’s Office); said costs being in an amount not to exceed Four Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($450,000.00) over the three-year term of the contract as set forth therein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Chairman thereof is hereby authorized and directed to execute an agreement with the Consultant for said on-call professional Testing Services.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Kane County Board appropriate the sum of Four Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($450,000.00) for the professional material testing services to be paid from County Highway Fund #300, Line Item #50140 (Engineering).
