Authorizing GL Changes in the Building Management and Information Technologies Departments for the Position of Building Security Director

WHEREAS, the Information Technologies Department is responsible for cameras, access control systems, and the security systems in most of the non-court buildings; and
WHEREAS, the number of security-related devices within County buildings has increased, requiring additional time, expertise, and effort to properly manage and maintain; and
WHEREAS, the Building Management and Information Technologies Department, in collaboration with the Human Resources Department, have restructured an existing position to assume these responsibilities without increasing overall staffing levels; and
WHEREAS, the restructured position, titled Building Security Director, will report to the Chief Information Officer and will be assigned to the Information Technologies Department; and
WHEREAS, One Hundred Twenty-Four Thousand Four Hundred Twenty-Four Dollars and Twenty-Six Cents ($124,424.26) will be moved from 001.080.080 funds to 001.060.060 funds to support the wage of this position; and
WHEREAS, this change does not involve any additional funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Finance Department is authorized to move One Hundred Twenty-Four Thousand Four-Hundred Twenty- Four Dollars and Twenty-Six Cents ($124,424.26) from 001.080.080 to 001.060.060 for the position of Building Security Director; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that position number 908011002 (Project Manager) in Building Management will be eliminated and a new position of Building Security Director (Position number TBA) will be created in Information Technologies.
