Resolution Authorizing an Emergency Purchase of the Irrigation Pump Station Equipment at Hughes Creek Golf Course

WHEREAS, the District operates Hughes Creek Golf Course under a golf management agreement with Landscapes Golf Management, Inc. (LGM), which authorizes LGM to utilize District funds for operational needs, capital maintenance and replacement, and safety management in support of long-term golf operations; and
WHEREAS, at the conclusion of the 2025 golf season, LGM notified District staff of intermittent malfunctions and operational concerns with the existing irrigation pump station at Hughes Creek Golf Course; and
WHEREAS, due to the age, condition, and reliability concerns associated with the existing irrigation pump station, LGM recommended an independent professional evaluation of the system; and
WHEREAS, Nuco Pump Sales and Service of Parkville, Missouri, was engaged to conduct a comprehensive inspection and assessment of the irrigation pump station, which revealed significant deterioration, including corrosion, structural damage, pinhole leaks, and deferred maintenance conditions rendering the system irreparable; and
WHEREAS, due to the safety risks, system failure concerns, and operational inefficiencies associated with the existing irrigation pump station, an emergency purchase is necessary to ensure continued safe and reliable golf course operations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the Forest Preserve District of Kane County, Kane County, Illinois authorizes that Landscapes Golf Management is hereby authorized to execute the emergency purchase of the irrigation pump station equipment at the Hughes Creek Golf Course for a cost not to exceed $233,040.00 with Nuco Pump Sales and Service of Parkville, Missouri.
