Authorizing the Kane County Sheriff’s Office to Implement a Standard Security Protocol to Enhance and Maintain Safety Measures for the Kane County Government Center

WHEREAS, the Kane County Government Center at 719 S. Batavia Ave, Geneva, IL, employs several hundred employees that interact with a large number of constituents on a daily basis; and
WHEREAS, ongoing tragic events throughout the country highlight the necessity to regularly review and improve security and safety measures for citizens and employees conducting business; and
WHEREAS, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office is fully equipped to implement, enhance, and maintain a standard security protocol for the Kane County Government Center campus; and
WHEREAS, to efficiently and expeditiously make these improvements, cooperation and coordination with a number of county offices and departments are necessary; and
WHEREAS, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office will present by resolution any physical or operational changes, along with financial impact, to the Government Complex via resolution for full Board approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board hereby authorizes the Kane County Sheriff’s Office to evaluate, implement, and improve the security and safety measures and features at the Kane County Government Center.
FURTHERMORE, all county offices and departments located at the Kane County Government Center are authorized and encouraged to provide expertise and cooperation where reasonable and appropriate with the Kane County Sheriff’s Office in making these improvements.
