Emergency Appropriation for Transfer of Funds from the General Fund - General Account #001 to the Sheriff’s Detail Escrow Fund #702

WHEREAS, Fund #702, the Sheriff’s Detail Escrow Fund, a special revenue fund, is used to account for security services provided to outside organizations by Sheriff’s Office personnel, wherein the Sheriff’s Office receives reimbursement from the outside organizations which fund the payments to Sheriff’s personnel; and
WHEREAS, for FY 2022 and FY 2023, $347,171 in reimbursements from outside organizations were inadvertently deposited into the General Fund - General Account Fund #001 instead of the Sheriff’s Detail Escrow Fund #702, thus resulting in a negative cash balance as of November 30, 2023 of $347,171 in Fund #702.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that $347,171 be transferred from the General Fund - General Account #001 to the Sheriff’s Detail Escrow Fund #702 and that the following appropriation adjustments to the FY 2024 budget be authorized.
