Authorizing FY26 Budget Adjustment for Grant Funding from the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority and Related Grant Budget Expenses for the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office

WHEREAS, the Kane County Board passed Ordinance 25-387, adopting the Fiscal Year 2026 Annual Appropriations and Budget; and
WHEREAS, in Fiscal Year 2026, the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office was awarded grants from the State of Illinois through the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority for the Statewide Deferred Prosecution Program, in the aggregate amount of One hundred seventy-one thousand six hundred fifty-seven dollars ($171,657.00) of State funds, available for reimbursement under an agreed budget (“ICJIA SDPP Grant”); and
WHEREAS, the grants are split over the Kane County Fiscal Year 2026 and Fiscal Year 2027; and
WHEREAS, the portion applicable to Kane County Fiscal Year 2026 is Thirty-one thousand six hundred sixty dollars ($31,660.00) from the ICJIA SDPP Grant; and
WHEREAS, a budget adjustment, in accordance with 55 ILCS 5/6-1003, is required to account for this grant funding for the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office in Fiscal Year 2026.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board authorizes the following adjustment to the Fiscal Year 2026 budget:
