Approving Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement with Wight and Company of Darien, Illinois for Phase III Construction Engineering Services for the Dauberman Road Extension, Kane County Section No. 15-00277-01-BR

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 22-315, the County of Kane (hereinafter the “County”) approved a Phase III Construction Engineering Services Agreement (hereinafter the “Agreement”) with Wight and Company which appropriated Two Million Ninety-Nine Thousand Nine Hundred Fifty-Three and 35/100 Dollars ($2,099,953.35), (hereinafter the “appropriation”) required for the construction of the Dauberman Road Extension (hereinafter the “Improvement”); and
WHEREAS, additional engineering services as contemplated in the scope of work set forth in the Agreement are desired by the County for the successful completion of the Improvement; and
WHEREAS, in order to address the need for the additional Phase III Construction Engineering Services, the County desires to amend the Agreement, (hereinafter the “Amendment”), (a copy of which Amendment is on file in the office the Kane County Clerk) by increasing the appropriation of the cost of Phase III Construction Engineering Services an additional $66,638.86 (hereinafter the Amendment), (a copy of which is on file in the office of the Kane County Clerk); and
WHEREAS, it is in the County’s best interest to extend the upper limit of the appropriation as set forth in the Agreement and the Amendment by an additional Sixty-Six Thousand Six Hundred Thirty-Eight and 86/100 Dollars ($66,638.86) from $2,099,953.35 to $2,166,592.21.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that Amendment to the Agreement with Wight and Company is hereby approved and that the Chairman thereof is hereby authorized to execute the Amendment.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Kane County Board approves the appropriation of the sum of Sixty-Six Thousand Six Hundred Thirty-Eight and 86/100 Dollars ($66,638.86) from Transportation Sales Tax Fund #305, Line Item #50140 (Engineering Services) for a total appropriation under the amended Agreement not to exceed Two Million One Hundred Sixty-Six Thousand Five Hundred Ninety-Two and 21/100 Dollars ($2,166,592.21).
