Amending the Housing and Community Development Consolidated Plan

WHEREAS, Kane County Board Resolution No. 97-344 established the Kane County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, and Resolution No. 04-06 established the Kane-Elgin HOME Consortium; and
WHEREAS, said programs are funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and are to be implemented in a manner consistent with the priorities and strategies identified in the local jurisdiction’s Housing and Community Development Consolidated Plan; and
WHEREAS, the County’s Consolidated Plan, which covers a five-year period including Program Years 2025 through 2029, was approved by the Kane County Board with the passage of Resolution No. 25-266; and
WHEREAS, said plan must be updated periodically to identify priorities and objectives for each program year, and to include programs and projects that will be undertaken with Federal funds; and
WHEREAS, the County has been notified that it will receive various Federal funding awards during Program Year 2026.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Housing and Community Development Consolidated Plan for Program Years 2025 through 2029 is hereby amended to identify priorities and objectives for Program Year 2026, and to include programs and projects that will be undertaken with funds, totaling $2,119,331, awarded by the Federal government.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Kane County Board Chairman and the Director of the Kane County Development & Community Services Department are authorized to sign applications, agreements, certifications, reports, and other documents required in order to complete the activities described in the plan.
