Authorizing a Budget Adjustment to Provide for DCEO Tourism Marketing Partnership Grant Program and Additional Department Expenses

WHEREAS, the Kane County Development & Community Services Department applied for and was awarded funding from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) through its Tourism Marketing Partnership Grant Program to fund marketing expenses for the Fabulous Fox! National Water Trail; and
WHEREAS, the grant funds will be used to reimburse marketing expenses already under contract with GMCI for said services as part of an ongoing tourism marketing program attracting visitors to the Fabulous Fox! National Water Trail; and
WHEREAS, the grant amount needs to be reflected in Fund 400 Economic Development-Revenue and Expense general ledger accounts; and
WHEREAS, Fund 400 also supports department expenses related to providing staff and office support and economic development; and
WHEREAS, the Kane County Development & Community Services Department has experienced unanticipated expenses related to the failure of printing and plotting equipment, as well as the need for additional furniture to complete the reorganization of the department to incorporate staff and programs from the former Office of Community Reinvestment (OCR) started in 2005.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board authorizes the following budget adjustments:

Expenses:
$100,000.00 400-690-710-50150 Contractual/Consulting Services
$2,000.00 400.690.710.55000 Miscellaneous Contractual Expenses
