Approving Amendment No. 3 to the Agreement with GZA Illinois, Inc. f/k/a Huff and Huff, Inc. of Oak Brook, Illinois for On-Call Environmental Engineering Services, Kane County Section No. 20-00527-00-ES

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 20-235, the County of Kane entered into an agreement (hereinafter the "Agreement") with GZA Illinois, Inc. f/k/a Huff and Huff, Inc. of Oak Brook, Illinois for On-Call Environmental Engineering Services (hereinafter the "Project"), and appropriated One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000.00) therefor; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 21-505, the County of Kane appropriated an additional Three Hundred Ninety-Eight Thousand Twenty-Six Dollars ($398,026.00) and entered into Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement with GZA Illinois, Inc. f/k/a Huff and Huff, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 23-74, the County of Kane appropriated an additional Six Hundred Forty-One Thousand Four Hundred Seventeen Dollars ($641,417.00), entered into Amendment No. 2 to the Agreement, and extended the term of the Agreement through December 31, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the Project requires additional time to complete Longmeadow Parkway soil testing and Illinois Environmental Protection Agency paperwork, and funds remain available from the previously approved appropriation; and
WHEREAS, the County desires to amend the Agreement by extending the term for an additional three (3) years through December 31, 2029, with no additional compensation to the Consultant and no additional appropriation of funds required (hereinafter "Amendment No. 3", a copy of which is on file in the office of the Kane County Clerk); and
WHEREAS, it is in the County's best interest to enter into Amendment No. 3 to allow for the completion of the Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that Amendment No. 3 to the Agreement is hereby approved and that the Chairman is hereby authorized and directed to execute Amendment No. 3 to the Agreement with GZA Illinois, Inc. f/k/a Huff and Huff, Inc. of Oak Brook, Illinois for the Project.
