Authorizing ERAP2 Funding for External Housing Stabilization Services

WHEREAS, Kane County applied for and received an allocation of Emergency Rental Assistance Program funds from the U.S. Department of the Treasury under the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act; and
WHEREAS, said allocation is to be used to provide financial assistance and housing stabilization services to income-eligible households; and
WHEREAS, the Kane County Office of Community Reinvestment solicited and reviewed applications from external organizations, including non-profits, that provide Housing Stabilization Services; and
WHEREAS, the Kane County Office of Community Reinvestment has recommended funding allocations for five (5) organizations totaling $721,219; and
WHEREAS, said funding was included in the county’s budget for Fiscal Year 2024.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the following organizations are awarded ERAP2 funds to provide Housing Stability Services to income-eligible households: Community Crisis Center ($76,219); Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity ($250,000); Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley ($70,000); Lazarus House ($25,000); and The Neighbor Project ($300,000).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the County Board Chairman and/or the Director of the Office of Community Reinvestment are authorized to execute funding agreements and subsequent amendments thereto with the aforementioned organizations to provide Housing Stability Services in a combined amount not to exceed $721,219.
