Authorizing Additional Funds for Kane County’s Adult Justice Center HVAC Pipe Chase and Related HVAC Improvement Projects with Hartwig Mechanical, Inc. (BID# 24-064-KK)

WHEREAS, Kane County solicited and received two (2) bids (BID# 24-064-KK) for Kane County’s Adult Justice Center HVAC and Pipe Chase Improvements Projects; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, as per bid documents and specifications was Hartwig Mechanical, Inc. of Harvard, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the original cost of Kane County’s Adult Justice Center HVAC and Pipe Chase Improvements Project was a project amount of eleven million nine hundred seventy-eight thousand two hundred seventy-six dollars ($11,978,276); and
WHEREAS, ARPA has allocated an additional three hundred forty-two thousand five hundred six dollars ($342,506) to the Kane County Building Management Department’s Jail Tower A&B HVAC System Improvement’s ARPA Project per Resolution No. TMP-26-424; and
WHEREAS, ARPA has allocated an additional sixty-five thousand four hundred ninety-seven dollars ($65,497) to the Kane County Building Management Department’s Sheriff’s Office HVAC System Renovations ARPA Project per Resolution No. TMP-26-426; and
WHEREAS, this is a project that has been approved by ARPA and will be funded by ARPA.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Building Management Department is authorized to spend an additional three hundred forty two thousand five hundred six dollars ($342,506) for the Kane County Building Management Department’s Jail Tower A&B HVAC System Improvement’s ARPA Project and sixty five thousand four hundred ninety seven dollars ($65,497) for the Kane County Building Management Department’s Sheriff’s Office HVAC System Renovations ARPA Project with Hartwig Mechanical, Inc. The new total for Kane County’s Adult Justice Center HVAC Pipe Chase and Related HVAC Improvements Projects is twelve million three hundred eighty-six thousand two hundred seventy-nine dollars ($12,386,279). This additional funding is provided by ARPA and has been approved by the Kane County Board.
