Resolution Approving Bids for Herbicide Control of Woody Resprouts at Various Preserves

WHEREAS, bids have been solicited and received for the herbicide weed management at various preserves, prioritized as needing treatment; and
WHEREAS, the District actively restores areas using modern fire suppression, clearing, and chemical treatments of both herbaceous and woody species; and
WHEREAS, nine (9) project areas within eight (8) preserve locations were bid with six (6) project areas being selected for award. The lowest qualified bids for each project were as follows:
Project 2 - Bliss Woods Forest Preserve - (56.4 acres): Bid of $33,852 by Davey Resource Group Inc.
Project 3 - Bowes Creek Greenway Forest Preserve - (4.7 acres): Bid of $4,810.10 by Davey Resource Group Inc.
Project 4 - Dick Young Forest Preserve - (77.6 acres): Bid of $41,877 by Davey Resource Group Inc.
Project 6 - Burnidge Forest Preserve - (53 acres): Bid of $29,378.62 by Davey Resource Group Inc.
Project 7 - Pingree Grove Forest Preserve - (23.2 acres): Bid of $16,268 by Davey Resource Group Inc.
Project 9 - Stearns Road Forest Preserve - (12.1 acres): Bid of $7,597.80 by Davey Resource Group Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the Forest Preserve District of Kane County, Kane County, Illinois, that the qualified, lowest bids for herbicide weed management to be conducted at portions of six forest preserves with Davey Resource Group Inc. of Elmhurst, Illinois, for a contract cost of $133,783.52 for projects 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, and 9 be and hereby are, accepted and approved.
